BOWLING GREEN (WTOL) - The Bowling Green State University Falcons open the 2008 football season on Saturday against Pittsburgh.

But three players won't be on the field.

On August 20, a Bowling Green woman reported her credit card was stolen. A check with her card company revealed $550 in unauthorized charges.

Police says most of the purchases were made at the BG Meijer store, and the three suspects were caught on surveillance video. All are charged with unauthorized use of a credit card.

BG police identify them as Wide Receiver Adrian Hodges, Defensive Back Robert Lorenzi and Running Back Willie Geter.

Among the items they bought were an X-box, clothing and food. The three say they found the card in a parking lot and admit to using it.

The case came together after police notified Meijer that suspicious charges had been made on the woman's credit card.

"They were able to pull it up. They have a good video system there, and the loss prevention people recognized one of the suspects having come in a couple days later. Once they got the report, they followed him out the store and got a license plate number. That's how we broke this open," says Lt. Tony Hetrick with the Bowling Green Police Department.

Hodges and Geter have been suspended from the team for the Pittsburgh game.

Lorenzi has a broken leg. He'll get a one-game suspension too, after being cleared to play.

You may remember earlier this summer when two other players were booted off the team -- and out of school -- for their alleged role in a BG home invasion.
