Monroe, MI man killed in motorcycle crash

MONROE COUNTY, MI (WTOL) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Department confirms 30-year-old Thomas C. Carr III of Monroe died in a motorcycle crash Monday night.

It happened on Strasburg Road at Yargerville Road in Lasalle Township.

Preliminary investigation reveals the 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was being driven eastbound on Yargerville Road when it struck a 2007 Cadillac passenger car that was traveling northbound on Strasburg Road.

The Cadillac was being operated by 22-year-old Kimberly A. Janus of Monroe.

Carr was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.

Janus was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Monroe where she is listed in stable condition.

Mr. Carr was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Traffic Services Division along with Sgt. Jeff Kemp of the CARs Division. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-240-7560.
