CLAY TOWNSHIP, OH (WTOL) - Audrey Yackee, 84, is calling her mail carrier a guardian angel after a life-threatening fall.

"Going out there, I know that it is icy and it's a lot of snow," she said. "I know you could fall, but I wasn't thinking about falling."

Yackee slipped near her barn Saturday morning and was unable to get up. For 45 minutes in sub-freezing temperatures, she yelled for help.

No one heard until postal worker Christie Lajti arrived to pick up Yackee's mail.

Lajti says she is shy and did not want ot be interviewed. However, the postmaster for Clay Township said, "We're all family here. Not only family here at the post office but family with the customers also."

Yackee says she's still a little sore but is feeling much better.
