TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - Life flight crews underwent a different kind of training Wednesday, practicing techniques under water rather than in the air. Though it's unlikely they'll ever need the emergency training, St. Vincent Mercy and University of Toledo life flight crews will be prepared thanks to training from the Coast Guard.
Crew member buckled themselves into a chair that flipped upside down in the water. They then had to wait, undo the buckle and safely escape from the chair. The training replicated a calmer situation than a real helicopter landing in the water, but crews learned and practiced the techniques.
