TOLEDO (WTOL) - A local feminist group is protesting the results of a Toledo Police investigation, which cleared an officer of inappropriate behavior toward women.

Members of the local branch of the National Organization for Women (NOW) said it would protest at the Scott Park Substation at least once a month until Sergeant Daniel Brandon is out of uniform.

"Women in Toledo are not safe if we call 911 and this guy shows up," said Sharon Barnes. "We are in danger. This man has threatened to rape people and he's verbally assaulted people that he's supposed to be serving."

Barnes first heard of Brandon when surveillance tapes of him hit YouTube. A store clerk had filed suit against Brandon, saying he told her she would have sex with him -- willingly or by force.

Brandon lost his job, but an arbitrator re-hired him. Internal affairs could not prove another complaint of improper demeanor filed against Brandon in August.

At that time, Brittany and Dominic Abraham were the victims of a home invasion, and Brandon was the command officer at the scene. The couple claims Brandon called Brittany a "ho," which is slang for "prostitute."

Internal affairs interviewed the Abrahams and the other officers at the scene. They say they could not prove any bad behavior and that Brandon remains on the force.

The Abrahams have appealed, and NOW members say they will continue to fight.

"We sent a letter to Carty. We also sent a letter to the attorney general. We're trying to do everything we can," Barnes said.
