SOUTH ROCKWOOD, Mich. (WTOL) - Michigan police are investigating the shooting of one of their own.

Corporal Thomas Murphy was taken by air ambulance to the University of Michigan Medical Center where he's listed in good condition. The person thought to have shot him has taken his own life, police say.

The Monroe Co. Sheriff's Office says Murphy was shot at a home on the 4200 block of Carleton Rd. That's right on the Monroe Co. border.

WWJ-AM and WDIV-TV report the shooting happened about 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
