Body of Ottawa Hills man found after canoe capsizes

(WTOL) - A body discovered over the weekend in a Michigan lake has been identified to be that of a 45-year-old James Durfee of Ottawa Hills.

The body was found Sunday morning, July 12 in Burt Lake near Cheboygan, Michigan.

Police say Durfee called out for help after his canoe capsized. A resident who heard the cries went out to the area but Durfee had disappeared.

His body was discovered 200-feet from the shore.
