A neighbor first reported the problem Thursday night. They noticed black sludge, flowing from the Big Bear Creek to Little Bear Creek.
"That's the major issue. We've got to get it stopped, then figure out where it's coming from," says the Director of the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency Brett Kolb.
The manure won't contaminate drinking water, the substance is killing the carp that spawn here in the spring.
"We in turn called the EPA hotline. It was dark we could not tell where the source was coming from last night. They were on scene this morning, and they're continuing to look," says Kolb.
Firefighters clean up the mess using a steam shovel to dig a hole and install a sump pump to suck the pollution out of Little Bear Creek.
The EPA searches the waters, hoping they'll lead back to the source of the leak.
Officials believe a MegaFarm could be using the ditch as a dumpsite or it could be runoff from surrounding fields.
