TOLEDO (WTOL) - Three men entered a house on the 3600 block of Wersell Avenue by breaking in through the window overnight, police said.
A 12-year-old and a 14-year-old were in the kitchen when they heard their two younger siblings yelling. When one of them stood up to see what was happening, he was approached by a man wearing a mask who raised a gun to his face and told the kids to lay on the floor, according to the police report.
Police said the men kept the children in the basement while they went through the house.
“The couch was flipped over and the cushions seemed to be cut as if the suspects were looking for something specific,” the police report read.
The crime was reported to police at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday. The kids were at the house by themselves and told police that their mom had gone to the store fifteen minutes before the men arrived at the house.
According to the police report, cellphones and video-game consoles were missing from the home.
