TOLEDO (WTOL) - The Toledo Land Bank has a brand new website aimed at assisting people that want to invest in a property that will help rebuild the town’s landscape.
This is the first digital update the non-profit has had in their ten-year history.
“Toledo and Lucas County are doing better... than certainly in the last 10 years or so, but there’s still a lot of places that need investment," David Mann, President of the Lucas County Land Bank, said. "They need help. They need neighbors to step up and buy that vacant property next door to them. They need others to step up and renovate that house on the block that’s been sitting empty for a while, and our new website and Land Bank, we give people those kinds of opportunities.”
Most of these properties are foreclosures and might be great opportunities to get a deal.
Those who want to get involved you can now go straight through the website.
Jim Loss, real state broker for Loss Realty Group, said he is thrilled to partner with Land Bank and is a big fan of what they’re doing for the community.
"The buyer can potentially get a property at below market value and if they have the resources, they know their costs and their expenses and they know what to do and what not to do. They can buy a property and within a year have, you know, maybe have 20, 30, 40 percent equity possibly,” he said.
An announcement is expected next week regarding the Land Bank’s progress toward renovating 1500 properties in 1500 days that started up back in 2016.
