TOLEDO (WTOL) - It’s time again for the annual Walleye Run, which brings in thousands of anglers from around the world together in fishing communion.

To help you reel in the biggest catch, Go 419 has your go-to guide to the 2019 Walleye Run!

Haven’t gotten your fishing license or gear yet? Maumee Bait and Tackle is your one-stop-shop for all your gear. There’s a daily river report highlighting, some of the day’s best catches and up-to-date weather and river stats.

Do you need a refresher on the rules before you put on your waders? The ODNR is Ohio’s official governing body for all things fishing.

The website lists the prices for fishing licenses for both residents and out-of-towners. A one-year pass for residents is $19.00, while nonresidents will pay $50.96.

They can answer any questions you may have like start and end times, bag limits, etc.

If you want to know where to cast your line, Metroparks Toledo might help clear things up. There you can learn the many different community holes to fish, and which fish can be caught in each area.

While it’s always a blast to go out and participate in this amazing event, we also need your help to keep the Mighty Maumee clean.

Partners for Clean Streams is a local organization working to maintain the waters so we can keep doing events like the Walleye Run for generations to come.

One thing people fishing in the Maumee River can do to help is to make sure to collect your fishing lines, because they have been known to choke local wildlife!

We can’t wait to see everyone make the most of the Walleye Run, so make sure to use these great resources to stay prepared and informed!
