Toledo City Council rejects proposal to increase safety training for local coaches, volunteers

TOLEDO (WTOL) - Toledo City Council Members rejected a proposal to increase safety training for coaches and volunteers who use city parks Tuesday night.

The proposal called for background checks of coaches.

It also would require them to carry liability insurance and go through CPR training.

City officials say it would have cost $35 per coach.
