Rossford High School’s Assistant Principal and Athletic Director on paid-administrative leave

ROSSFORD (WTOL) - Rossford High School’s Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Patrick Murtha was placed on paid-administrative leave last Friday.

On Monday, the Rossford School Board went into executive session to consider the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee.

Rossford confirms Patrick Murtha is on paid leave pending an investigation into an allegation of inappropriate activity. They are not providing other details at this time.

Back in 2004 he was disciplined by the State Board of Education. Public records indicate he was making inappropriate comments and jokes as well as inappropriately touching the hair, face and/or lower back of members of the school community.

This was not during his time at Rossford, rather another Ohio School.

The terms of that charge required Murtha to complete six weeks of counseling in the area of sexual harassment.

The Rossford School District is unable to comment on whether or not the nature of this investigation is similar to the charges from back in 2004 at another Ohio School.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details are confirmed.
