First Alert Tonight & Tuesday: Icy Conditions Take Over

A wintry mix will move in this evening, spreading across the Toledo area by 8:00 PM. East winds will hold temperatures below freezing making a perfect setup for freezing rain overnight. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly.

TOLEDO (WTOL) - A wintry mix will move in this evening, spreading across the Toledo area by 8:00 PM. East winds will hold temperatures below freezing making a perfect setup for freezing rain overnight. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly.

Tuesday: FIRST ALERT DAY. The day will start off with icing conditions along and north of Route 6. Temperatures will warm above freezing with hazy conditions and periods of rain. Morning icing may take some time to improve even after temperatures are above freezing for several hours. Afternoon highs in Toledo will reach around 40 degrees with winds going nearly calm.

Winds will shift to west into Tuesday night. It will become windy for Wednesday as colder air pushes back into the area.

Friday will be yet another significant storm system and a FIRST ALERT DAY for soaking rain. This could possibly change to snow Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Weekend: relatively cold. Chance of snow Sunday.
