‘The Wizard of Oz’ coming to theaters to celebrate 80th anniversary as part of TCM’s Big Screen Classics series

Other movies in the lineup that will be shown again in theaters are also celebrating anniversaries, including: The Shawshank Redemption, Field of Dreams and Steel Magnolias.

TOLEDO (WTOL) - It has been 80 years since Dorothy Gale clicked her heels together three times and said those iconic words that ring true in all our hearts: “There’s no place like home.”

Now, she’s coming “home” for all of us again as Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies bring the classic film back to the big screen in select.

You can watch the Scarecrow get his brain, the Tin Man his heart and the Lion his courage in our area at the Fallen Timbers Extreme theater at the end of January as part of the TCM Big Screen Classic series.

Thirteen other timeless movies will be shown again on the silver screen as part of the Big Screen Classic series, most of which are celebrating anniversaries of their own.
