TIFFIN (WTOL) - One person is dead after being hit by a car in Tiffin on Wednesday.
The crash happened in the 700 block of S. Sandusky St. near the city limits around 6 p.m.
Police say 80-year-old Shirley Schultz of Tiffin was crossing the road well away from the crosswalk at the intersections of S. Sandusky St. and Ella St.
A vehicle driven by 41-year-old Candi Ludwig of Tiffin hit the woman as she was crossing the street.
Police say an air ambulance was called to take Schultz to the hospital, but couldn’t fly due to weather conditions. Police say Schultz was taken to St. Vincent’s by ground ambulance where she passed away Thursday morning.
The crash is under investigation, but police say it appears to be just a tragic accident.
