TOLEDO (WTOL) - Seventy senior citizens on fixed incomes now have a brand new place to call home.
On Tuesday, Friendship Baptist Church and the National Church Residences held a grand opening for the new Valley Bridge Apartments.
The groups along with many other local agencies managed to finished the $10 million project just a year after breaking ground.
“Any city in this country now is realizing there’s an affordable housing crisis, and some people don’t realize that impacts the senior community just like every other group. And for seniors on a fixed incomes it becomes even more acute," said Michelle Norris, of National Church Residences.
Representative Marcy Kaptur was also in attendance on Tuesday.
This is the seventh affordable housing complex built by National Church Residences in Toledo.
