Police recover more than $4,000 worth of stolen merchandise during package theft investigation

The Tiffin Police Department received more than 25 complaints of shipped packages taken from the porches of residences during the week of Nov. 26.

TIFFIN (WTOL) - Police have identified 2 people in connection with packages thefts reported in the Tiffin area.

The Tiffin Police Department received more than 25 complaints of shipped packages taken from the porches of residences during the week of Nov. 26.

As police began investigating the complaints, the identified a suspect and the suspect’s vehicle with help from the community.

Police located the vehicle on Nov. 29 with 2 suspects, 36-year-old Christopher Chaffee of Tiffin and 39-year-old Angela Force of Tiffin.

The investigation led to the recovery of $4,043.80 in stolen merchandise.

Police say felony charges for theft and receiving/retaining stolen property have been sent to the Seneca County Prosecutor’s Office against them.

If the grand jury moves forward with the charges, Chaffe and Force will be arrested and booked in the Seneca County Jail.
