TOLEDO (WTOL) - More than $36 million has been awarded to Heidelberg University in Tiffin.
On Wednesday, Senator Sherrod Brown announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has given Heidelberg a Rural Development loan of $36,500,000 for upgrades and improvements to the University’s campus.
The funds will go toward a new student welcome center, student housing and classroom renovations.
The USDA will also be providing a $1.5 million Community Facilities loan for the project.
Senator Sherrod Brown says the investment will not only help support faculty and students, but lead to more jobs and economic growth in Tiffin and the surrounding area.
