SYLVANIA, OH (WTOL) - The colorful event ‘'Miracle on Main’' officially got underway Friday night with the lighting of the Sylvania Christmas tree.
It’s how the city kicks off the holiday season, encouraging folks to shop local in a twinkling and sparkling downtown district.
The Fuller Art House offers small and large gifts with different holiday themes such as ornaments, handcrafted glass and gift cards.
“The whole strip. Every location you go to is offering wonderful stuff for the holidays. Great time to get your holiday shopping started,” said Dani Fuller of the Fuller Art House.
At the corner of Main and Maple you’ll find the Mistletoe Market.
Inside two heated tents are 60 artists and crafters like 16-year-old Adam Lenhart. His business is called Innoscents Handmade Soap.
Adam said each bar is made of natural and vegan friendly ingredients.
“It’s a six week process to create each bar of soap which leads it to be very long lasting, moisturizing and beneficial to the skin.”
“Miracle on Main’' is a time to shop local but drink local too. You can go on the ‘Elfin’ Brew Hop.’ Six bars have brewed up holiday batches of craft beer.
Inside the Five offers Chocolate In Wonderland, Peppermint Porter and another one with a catchy name.
“’Grandma got Run Over By A Reinbeer’' laughs Chris Morris of Inside the Five.
“Miracle on Main’' continues all day Saturday. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a holiday parade.
