Model train and toy show happening Sunday at Owens

Hundreds of hobbyists are expected to show up to buy, sell and trade model trains and other toys.

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Greater Toledo Train and Toy Show takes place on Sunday at Owens Community College.

Hundreds of hobbyists are expected to show up to buy, sell and trade model trains and other toys.

Thomas the Tank Engine will be there giving rides to the kids and there will be Lego layouts as well.

Organizers say this is a great event to get kids hooked on the hobby.

"Toy trains are expensive but if you come to a show like this you can get some really nice starter sets whether it's old or new. Very reasonable. Kids, once they play with the stuff, it takes right off," said show organizer Randy Ramsey.

The show runs from 11:00 to 3:00 tomorrow at Owens Community College.

Admission for adults is six dollars.

Kids under twelve get in for free.
